Football v Homophobia Awards 2026 – Nominations Now Open!

The Football v Homophobia Awards nominations for 2026 are now open! This year our FvH partners down south will be hosting the awards in the London Welsh Centre (in London) on Friday 6th of February.

And of course, no Scotland, no party, so let’s get as many Scottish nominees shortlisted as possible. We are eligible for 9 out of the 12 categories and these include;

  • Professional Game
  • Semi-Professional Game
  • Grassroots Club
  • Supporters Group
  • FvH Hero
  • Women’s Game
  • Football Media
  • Community Trust or Foundation
  • And of course the FvH Scotland Award!

Here are our top tips for nominations;

  • Self nominate! This is how most groups get nominated with a well written nomination from their committee or leadership.
  • Ask your members and supporters to nominate you. Be shameless and get that out on your social media and group chats. Heartfelt personal stories go a long way.
  • Read the criteria and make sure you are eligible and fit as many criteria as possible into the nomination.
  • Be intersectional, talk about how you have supported our diverse community and how you go that extra mile for marginalised groups.
  • Nominate in all relevant categories, a nomination will need to be submitted for each. A lot of the criteria will be similar but make sure to adjust the language for any changes across categories.
  • There’s a 500 word limit, so be concise and impactful.

If you want to have a chat about making a nomination please let us know, we won’t be able to write it for you, but can offer advice.

Nominations close 14th of December with the shortlists announced on the 5th of January! You can find the full details and the nomination form on the FvH Website here.
