Saltire Thistle FC are set to host the UK’s largest LGBT football competition in a first for Scotland.
This Saturday 24th November, Saltire Thistle FC will host LGBT-friendly football clubs from Trowbridge, London, Nottingham, Manchester, Dublin and Edinburgh, as teams go head-to-head to qualify for the semi-finals of the GFSN National Cup. This is the first time the GFSN (Gay Football Supporter’s Network) National Cup will take place in Glasgow and Scotland. Saltire are hoping for a great turnout at the sidelines of Toryglen to help show some Scottish support. When you’re not enthralled in the football, look out for Football v Homophobia Scotland who will be present and are supporting the event.
After the scores have been settled, Saltire encourage everyone to head to The Gallery, Brunswick Street, before heading to AXM, where the GFSN Winter Social will take place. If you are a LEAP volunteer or are involved in an LGBTI inclusive sports team and would like a free AXM wristband, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
