Let us know what you will do for the 2026 Month of Action by completing this form!

We work year-round, but February is the Football v Homophobia Month of Action, when we ask football clubs, from the grassroots to the premier league, to focus their efforts. Clubs can get involved by:

  • Dedicating one of your February match fixtures to the campaign.
  • Running an event that highlights LGBTIQ+ inclusion in football.
  • Creating content that celebrates your LGBTIQ+ fans, members and players, using the FvH Scotland branding and merchandise.
  • Fundraising for the year-round work of the campaign.
  • Taking the time to reflect on the inclusion work you have done over the past year and to consider what you will do in the year to come.

Unfortunately, LGBTIQ+ people in Scotland feel more than twice as excluded from football as they do from any other sport that they are attracted to. And statistics show that LGBTIQ+phobia in footballing environments continues to be an ongoing problem. When asked what measures can be used to tackle discrimination in sport, a high-profile anti-homophobia campaign was the top choice (74%) of Scottish respondents to the OutSports survey. Getting involved in the Month of Action is one way to take a stand against LGBTIQ+phobia and to show LGBTIQ+ people that they do belong in the beautiful game.
